**Privacy Policy** **Last Updated: October 5, 2026** Reno is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application. **Privacy-First Approach: Everything Stays on Your Device** Reno: Renovation Calculator is built to work without an account. Your renovation projects, items, estimates, receipts, receipt photos, deal figures and settings are stored locally on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync in Reno's Settings, this data is also stored in your personal iCloud account so it can sync across your own devices. We do not run servers that store your projects, and we cannot see or access the data you enter in Reno. **Information We Process** **Receipt Photos and Images** When you scan a receipt with the camera or choose a photo from your library, Reno reads the text in the image to fill in the amount, supplier and date for you. This text recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks. The photo is saved with the receipt on your device, and in your personal iCloud account if iCloud sync is on. Receipt images are never uploaded to our servers or sent to any third-party service. **Face Data (Clarification)** Reno does not intentionally collect, process, or store any facial recognition or biometric data. The app is designed exclusively for reading receipt totals, supplier names and dates from user-submitted receipt images. Users may submit any image, including those that could contain human faces. In such cases, images are processed only for the purpose of recognizing receipt text and no facial recognition or biometric analysis is performed. Images are processed on your device only, are never transmitted to third-party AI services, and are not retained by Reno outside your own device and personal iCloud account. We do not store or use face data for any purpose. **Project and Cost Data** Reno processes the information you enter to track your renovations: property addresses and suburbs, project status, renovation items and descriptions, estimates, receipt amounts, supplier names, dates, GST settings, purchase and sale prices, agent fees, other costs and target profit. Reno uses this data only to calculate totals, variances, forecast profit, ROI, margin, maximum purchase price and comparisons between your projects. **Calculations and Reports** Totals, estimates from past projects, comparisons, PDF reports and CSV files are created on your device from your own data. Reports and files are only shared when you choose to save or share them. **Region and Language Preferences** Reno stores your country, currency, GST rate, GST registration choice and new project defaults so calculations match your region. The app language follows your device language settings. **Subscription Status** When you buy or restore a subscription, Apple processes the payment. Reno receives only your subscription status and a random purchase identifier so it can unlock Reno Pro. Reno never receives your payment card details. **How We Use Your Information** **To Provide Our Services** Your project data is used only on your device to show budgets, receipts, variances, profit and reports. Receipt text recognition happens on your device and is not processed by external or AI services. **Usage Data** We collect anonymous usage statistics, such as which screens are opened, which features are used, app version, device model and operating system version. This data is linked to a random identifier, not to your name, email or contact details, and never includes your property addresses, receipt contents, supplier names or financial figures. We use it only to understand how Reno is used and to improve the app. **Data Storage** All personal data you create in Reno is stored on your device. When iCloud sync is turned on, the same data is stored in your personal iCloud account and protected by Apple. Deleting a project or receipt removes it from your device and, when sync is on, from your iCloud account. **Third-Party Services** **Receipt Scanning (No AI Services)** Reno does not send images or data to third-party AI services. Receipt scanning uses Apple's on-device text recognition, so your receipts stay on your device. **Analytics** Reno uses Mixpanel to collect the anonymous usage data described above. No project data, addresses, receipt contents or financial figures are sent. **Subscriptions and Payments** Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Reno uses RevenueCat to confirm your subscription status, which involves a random app user identifier and purchase records, not your name or payment details. **Your Data Control** **Complete Control** You can edit or delete any project, item, receipt or cost at any time. Deleting the app removes all Reno data stored on your device. **iCloud Sync** iCloud sync is off until you turn it on in Reno's Settings. When it is on, your data syncs between devices signed in to the same Apple ID. You can turn it off at any time in Reno's Settings, or turn off iCloud for Reno in your device's Settings under your Apple ID and iCloud. Data already stored in iCloud can be managed in your Apple ID iCloud storage settings. **Data Portability** You can export any project as a PDF report or CSV file, back up all projects to a CSV file, and save or share these files wherever you choose. **Data Security** Because your data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account, its security depends on the security of your device and your Apple ID. We recommend using a device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and a strong, unique password with two-factor authentication for your Apple ID. **Changes to This Privacy Policy** We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of Reno after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy. **Contact Us** If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how Reno handles your information, please contact us: https://forms.fillout.com/t/1LeYQJJXocus
